Quite frankly, I have no clue if this will work. I'm giving it a try, anyway. I'm begging for money the most legitimate way I can think of. Here's the deal:
I'm a late 40's EMT Basic that is doing my dead-level best to keep my self financially above water while attending Paramedic school. I have a mountain of debt, some self-created (admittedly) but the greater percentage of which happened with my near-death experience of bacterial meningitis two and a half years ago. If you have ever had such an experience, you know how life-changing it can be. Mine caused me to chuck a fairly lucrative sales career after 16 years to return to a vocation I loved while in the Navy oh-so-many years ago. I have chosen (admittedly late in life) to pursue a career of service for astoundingly low pay because it is something that I feel compelled to do. No, I will not take you down my religious experience except to say that it has been profound.
Financially, I'm sinking.
It's not for lack of trying, you see. In addition to attending school, I take overtime shifts on the ambulance when I can, and try to spend whatever leftover minutes I can with my new bride. I'm gone to school out of town Monday through Friday and I work OT shifts on Saturday (12 hours or more, usually). Sunday is reserved for my God and my wife. I'm trying hard to make this happen.
I am desperate to be a paramedic. I just see my future, and I may go broke before it comes to fruition. There is no intention to keep this beg going beyond December, as that would mark the end of school and a decent payraise that will keep me afloat by itself, and with part time work I can even make headway.
Do you have a few bucks you could spare to help this dream become reality? I'm a good risk. With 4 classes completed (by class I mean college credit classes), I'm carrying a 3.75 GPA and I don't anticipate it going any lower. I plan on being the guy you want to show up in the ambulance when your spouse, child or parent is in need.
I'll open a Paypal account if there is the first sign of interest. It's in God's hands and yours, regardless.
